West of England touch card is changing

What is changing?

First West of England are teaming up with TravelWest (West of England local authorities) to offer one smartcard across West of England for all your travelling needs.

Touch smartcards will be phased out over the coming months as customers sign up for a TravelWest smartcards.

Where can I get a TravelWest smartcard?

TravelWest smartcards are available to sign up at or from the First Bristol and Bath travel shops from the 29th May. Alternatively, click the sign up for a TravelWest card opposite, where you will be redirected to the TravelWest website.

Will my touch card still work?

Yes, your touch smartcard will still work, however the next time you purchase a new ticket after the 10th June your transaction and ticket information will not be visible in the touch portal. If you wish to view these transaction and ticket history, you will need a TravelWest smartcard and account. Any stored or remaining trip tickets on your touch smartcard will still be valid and can be used until the 31st August.

Can I still access my touch card account?

Yes, you will still be able to access your touch card account until 31st August when the site will be removed. All transaction and ticket information will be available until this date, after no data will be held or available.

What products will be available?

All products remain the same so you will still be able to purchase your week, month tickets and single trip as you do currently. From the 10th June Bristol Inner, Bath Inner and Outer Day tickets will also be available to purchase on your TravelWest smartcard.

Where can I purchase a ticket?

Day, week, month and single trip tickets can still be purchased on bus from the driver (except Metrobus services) and from our Bristol and Bath travel shops. On Metrobus routes, you can purchase tickets from the iPoint at each bus stop.

From the 10th June, you will also be able to purchase tickets from PayZone outlets across Bristol and Bath. Also, from the 10th June Bristol Inner and Outer zone products will be available to purchase online at to be then be collected from an iPoint.

Alternatively, all our products are available on our mTicket mobile app. The mTicket app allows you to buy and load bus tickets on your phone. You then just show the mTicket on your smart phone to the driver and they will accept it just like any other ticket.
